ZERO-G FLIGHT LOG #9 Alpha 5.1.5 — The Combat Simulator is Live

Simulation Scenarios

Ciao Pilots,
The aliens are getting stronger. Every incursion brings new tactics, new formations, new threat levels. Until now, the only way to learn how to fight them was to fight them — with real ships, real losses, real consequences.
That changes today.

⚔️ THE COMBAT SIMULATOR IS LIVE

The Vatican Academy has deployed a quantum supercomputer cooled with refined Helium to near absolute zero. Its purpose: to model every known alien behaviour and generate realistic combat scenarios you can train in — without risking a single real ship. This is the safest way to learn the most dangerous skill in Zero-G.

How it works:
Open the Combat Simulator from the main Combat menu
Assemble your scenario — any combination of your own pilots and ships
Invite other pilots if you want — the creator pays for all participants
Start the simulation — ships destroyed are not lost, no XP gained, no loot
Learn. Adjust. Try again.

Call for Pilot

Scenarios range from basic engagements to advanced alien fleet configurations. More complex scenarios require refined Helium as coolant — and carry higher costs to reflect the energy demands. As alien knowledge grows, new and more challenging scenarios will be unlocked.
The cost model:
The creator pays per pilot at simulation start. If the fee is 100 UNc and 5 pilots join, the creator pays 500 UNc. Participants are free — your ships and pilots remain available in the live universe at all times.

👁️ SPECTATOR MODE

Any pilot can now watch active combat simulations in real time directly from the Combat menu. No interference, no cost — pure observation. Watch how veteran pilots engage alien Jump Drive fleets. Learn their formations, their timing, their decision-making. The best classroom in Zero-G is now open to everyone.

🕹️ MANUAL PILOTING
A new Manual stance gives you direct control of your ship's acceleration vector in combat.
Switch via the stance dropdown, then use WASD or arrow keys to rotate and adjust thrust. Your acceleration vector appears as a pulsing yellow arrow on the tactical map. Full control. Full responsibility.

##📡 TACTICAL INTERFACE REDESIGN
The combat view has been substantially rebuilt:
Vector Display (V key) — cycles through three layers:

V — velocity and acceleration vectors
VT — adds target route lines
VTR — adds weapon optimal range circles

Improved Ship Cards — real-time speed, distance to target, weapon range. Click any value to display it on the map.
Click-to-Select — click directly on alien ships on the canvas to target them instantly.
Focus Fire Controls:

🎯 Focus Current Ship Fire — all cannons on one target
🔥 Focus All Ships' Fire — entire fleet on one target simultaneously

##🎖️ THE MARU PROTOCOL
The latesta scenario we built in the Combat Simulator is a no-win test.
Three human ships. One alien Jump Drive fleet with superior numbers and positioning. No realistic path to victory.
The goal isn't to win. It's to see how you respond when winning isn't possible.
Fellow sci-fi fans will understand the inspiration.
