Ciao Pilots, Today is a milestone!

When we launched the public alpha in January we had 0 pilots, no economy, and a solar system that was mostly empty. Today we have 1,230+ registered pilots, alien fleets patrolling the inner planets, player corporations building starbases at Venus, and — as of today — the first real player-driven economy in the Zero-G universe.

Alpha 5.0.0 is live. Here's what changed.

🏛️ THE AUCTION HOUSE IS OPEN


The central Auction House

For the first time in Zero-G history, pilots can trade directly with each other.

The Auction House is now live at Grottaglie HQ. You can place buy orders, sell orders, and bid on existing listings. Order limits scale with your total pilot levels — the more experienced your fleet, the more market activity you can run simultaneously. Each HQ charges a 15% transaction tax on all orders (we'll tune this based on your feedback and pilot abilities will eventually reduce it).

This is the foundation of everything we've been building toward. The scanning economy, the mining loops, the corporate starbases — all of it now feeds into a real player-driven market. What you mine, refine, and manufacture will have real value determined by real supply and demand between real pilots.

The economy is yours now. Use it wisely.

⚙️ CRAFTING PHASE 0.5 — THE INDUSTRIAL AGE BEGINS


Refined elements

The database foundation for the full crafting system is live today.

What does that mean in practice? The system now supports multiple layers of materials and components — raw ore becomes refined elements, refined elements become components, components become ships, installations, and technologies. The full industrial chain from asteroid to starship is now architecturally possible.

The first visible step: Refined Elements now appear in stores with their own statistics — value, size, weight, and industrial applications.

The Refining loop goes live in the next days: State industrial installations, pilot refining skills, and the first complete ore-to-product chain. Player-built refining facilities come later in Alpha 5.

This is the beginning of something big. Alpha 4 was exploration and survival. Alpha 5 is industry and commerce.

We retired the old starter ships and replaced them with something better. Meet the new fleet:

⚔️ COMBAT GETS SERIOUS

Several improvements ship today with more coming every release:

Full ship stats now visible on the combat entry page — know what you're flying into before you commit
Improved ship navigation in combat — better orbital positioning against enemies at optimal ranges
Loot boxes now listed in the Combat menu with map auto-centre on click — no more hunting for your hard-earned drops
Combat missions are now implemented — appearing in daily missions and soon in a dedicated monthly expedition

📋 QUALITY OF LIFE

Daily missions completely retuned — especially for new players. Outer planet missions for beginners are being filtered out.
Active missions page revamped — now grouped by pilot with full filter and sort options
Scan missions now count at ANY planet — wherever you scan, the mission completes
First scan/first publish now shows your account nickname — your name in history
Mobile logout fixed, shipyard and store pages improved, tutorial updated for new ships
0Gc and UNc now support decimal values
MAX button in cargo transfer now accounts for real available space

🔭 WHAT'S COMING NEXT


The refining loop goes live in days — the first complete industrial chain from raw ore to refined element.
After that: player-built refining installations, the full crafting tree, combat computers, alien scanners, advanced ammunition, and the Argonaut's Call expedition focused on mineral prospecting.

Alpha 5.0 is just beginning.
